  107. The first major battle of the war is set to occur near Bull Run
  108. Creek, at Manassas Junction, Virginia in this variation scenario.

  110. Beauregard has anticipated a Union move, and taken up positions
  111. near the creek while requesting more support from J.E. Johnston.
  112. Irvin McDowell, the Union commander, is convinced that the Stone
  113. Bridge was strongly defended. He intends for Tyler make a feint at
  114. the bridge, while the main force under Hunter and Hientzelman will
  115. surprise the Rebs by crossing at Sudley Ford to the north.

  117. This flanking movement is detected by the Confederate Evans,
  118. however, who was reinforced by Bee and Bartow. As the battle
  119. progresses in an uncoordinated attack, the Confederates will be
  120. pushed back and the lines pushed near breaking. T.J. Jackson
  121. earned his "Stonewall" name by holding firm near the Henry House
  122. position (he is entrenched to simulate this in the game) despite
  123. the fierce attack. Confederate reinforcements will arrive at about
  124. 4 P.M., when in real life the tide of battle shifted, and a
  125. Federal retreat began. When a wrecked wagon on Cub Run bridge
  126. blocked the Union withdrawal, the orderly retreat turned into a
  127. rout.
